Feldenkrais ‘Awareness through Movement’ lessons really work – scientifically constructed movement sequences (done at your own pace) give you the opportunity to learn to reorganise & refine your movement habits, as you feel for yourself how:
· your feet contact the ground and are organised with your hips
· your skeleton converts gravity into GO!, equal and opposite without efforting
· your hips, chest, shoulders move easily & these mechanics propel you efficiently
· your head can be poised on your spine and turn freely all around
Feldenkrais enables you to (re) experience how to take your time to balance with a sense of ease, to listen to your nervous system in class and allow your proprioception to do its job afterwards. Feel safer on difficult ground, in bad weather, when you are tired - and if you have an injury, disability, or illness, learn ways not to let it take over (but still respect its needs).
